A Giant Step Forward

TECHNIQUES SO ADVANCED, YOU CAN SKIP THE HOSPITAL.

Precise. Simple. Home.

The Outpatient Revolution

Surgical and nonsurgical treatment of the spine have come a long way. Techniques have become so small and minimally invasive that hospitalization is often no longer necessary. This means less pain, faster recovery, and a return to the quality of life you demand. This dramatic improvement in treatment is the result of years of research, perfection of technique, and mastery of skill. It’s modern spine surgery. Without the hospital.

OUTPATIENT SURGICAL SAFETY

Prioritizing Your Safety at Every Turn & Above All Else

We want to assure you of our commitment to place your safety above all else. Your outpatient procedure will take place at an Ambulatory Surgical Center, as opposed to a hospital. The small format of our ASCs allows full control and adherence to diligent safety protocols, and because freestanding ASCs have no emergency rooms, sick patients, or intensive care unit beds, there is a well-understood decrease in the overall infection risk.

Technology is Our Driving Force

It's Behind Everything We Do.

The technology that allows us to perform cutting edge procedures without the hassle of hospitalization is simply stunning. Included in the growing list of outpatient procedures is cervical artificial disc replacement, lumbar artificial disc replacement, cervical microdecompression, lumbar microdecompression, the XLIF procedure, the Coflex procedure, and the minimally invasive cervical and lumbar fusions.

OUTPATIENT NONSURGICAL TECHNIQUES

Conservative Management

A Cornerstone of Our Philosophy.

Not all spinal problems require surgery. In fact, our initial approach in most cases is nonoperative intervention. This includes some of the latest techniques in interventional pain management such as facet blocks, selective nerve root blocks, epidural injections, stem cell injections, and platelet rich plasma injections. These techniques are designed to provide immediate relief and in some cases may be all that you need to restore your quality of life.

We’re Not Just
Changing Surgery.
We’re Changing Lives.

Innovation. Knowledge. Attention to Detail. Compassion. These are our Core Values. They mean that we are constantly perfecting the latest technologies to better serve our patients. Our current focus is in the fascinating fields of Augmented-Reality Surgery and Robotic Surgery. As spinal procedures move more and more into the outpatient setting, these technologies will have tremendous impact on the precision and effectiveness of our techniques. Technology at the Cutting Edge, all part of the Outpatient Revolution.

Testimonials

Our Patients.

Our Purpose.

We are privileged to be able to help our patients through their pain and disability. Whether it is through nonsurgical management, motion-sparing technology, minimally invasive techniques, or state-of-the-art outpatient procedures, our happy patients are our greatest achievement. Every patient deserves the chance to have a normal quality of life. We are honored to help them get there.

Dr. Rasouli on Meet the Doctors Podcast

Dr. Rasouli says 90% of all patients with back pain don’t need surgery. By trying conservative treatments first, most patients will recover. For the 10% that need surgery, Dr. Rasouli pioneered doing cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacements in an outpatient setting. That means most of his cervical and lumbar disc replacements allow patients to go home the same day as surgery. These are rapid recovery spine surgeries.

Melding Medicine and Technology

“The same things that are required for you to be good with computers make you good at surgery, which is a very logical, focus-driven algorithmic process where one task can’t be completed unless another task before it is completed. At the same time, there’s this art in surgery that’s not scientific or focus driven, but is just art – an expression of something that you can’t quite describe."
